Episode 148: Revisiting the Cosmic Dread of Event Horizon

🚀 IN SPACE, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM… BUT THEY CAN DEFINITELY HEAR RAE AND WEEN TALKING SH*T! 👽🔥

This week on the B3 Horror Movie Podcast, Rae and Ween are blasting off into the deepest, darkest corners of space to revisit the 1997 sci-fi horror cult classic EVENT HORIZON, starring Sam Neill, Laurence Fishburne, and Jason Isaacs.

What happens when humanity decides to fold space-time, punch a hole in the universe, and take a little shortcut through what might actually be HELL? Well, apparently nothing good. Absolutely nothing good.

Join us as we explore Paul W.S. Anderson's gloriously disturbing space nightmare, where the ship is haunted, the crew is traumatized, and Laurence Fishburne is the only person making reasonable decisions.

👁️ In this episode, we're diving into:

🚀 The science behind black holes, event horizons, and why Rae and Ween should probably never be allowed near NASA.

🔥 Lovecraftian cosmic horror, Dante's Inferno, and why this spaceship is basically The Shining with a gravity drive.

👀 The film's incredible practical effects, unsettling imagery, and its apparent personal vendetta against eyeballs.

💀 How a box-office bomb became one of sci-fi horror's most beloved cult classics.

Plus, plenty of questionable science, unexpected tangents, behind-the-scenes trivia, and the usual B3 chaos.

Is Event Horizon an underrated masterpiece of cosmic horror, or should this particular spaceship have stayed missing?

Strap in, grab your emergency oxygen, and whatever you do… DO NOT ENGAGE THE GRAVITY DRIVE.
